Key Projects

İşbir Jeneratörleri / Siemens Building Automation – Balıkesir, Turkey
As a lead automation engineer and supervisor, I played a crucial role in overseeing the implementation of this project. The building comprised of 11 air handling units, 38 circulation and emergency pumps, and 28 exhaust and supply air fans. Also integrated network switch and UPS data (SNMP), controlling the entire system using DesigoCC. This project involved managing 700 physical points and 1600 integration data.

Key Achievements:

  • Successfully commissioned 7 DDCs with Siemens PXC PLCs
  • Created network maps and transferring Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP-IP, SNMP, Mbus data to BACNET-IP
  • Led the live and cold tests, providing guidance to the electrical team during testing and wiring processes

Ege Çelik ECOSHAFT Electric Arc Furnace Scrap Charger – İzmir, Turkey
Within an iron & steel factory, I worked as an automation engineer for the programming of the charging system (ECOSHAFT) of an Electric Arc Furnace (EAF). This involved working with S7-400 and S7-300 PLCs, managing over 800 I/Os. The control system was implemented using WinCC 7.4, which included charging animations and a 2D simulation of the entire system. Notably, the project incorporated a 400-bar hydraulic system to press the scrap into a preheating container, followed by drying and charging it into the EAF.

Key Achievements:

  • Created automation scenarios with the mechanical team
  • Conducted I/O test and commissioned 400 hydraulic press system
  • Created solutions for the safety issues

Maxion Wheels / Siemens Energy Recovery System – Manisa, Turkey
I worked in this project as a supervisor and automation engineer. The system had dampers connected to the chimneys of the 4 melting furnaces. These dampers open and close based on vacuum and temperature to be drawn into the recuperator and economizer with the help of the exhaust fan controlled with S7-1513 cpu and V15.1 SCADA. I also programmed a detailed reporting system that saves hourly, daily, monthly and annually averages and energy savings. This project had over 200 I/Os.

Key Achievements:

  • Managed the electrical team on-site. Conducted sensor selection based on system specifications
  • Commissioned Mbus Energy Calculator and programmed a detailed reporting system inside S7 CPU

Bitron Building Automation and Energy Monitoring System – İzmir, Turkey
I worked as an automation engineer on this project, focusing on programming the components and energy monitoring systems for four floors of a building. The system allowed users to enter shift hours and control the lighting accordingly. Additionally, it provided energy reports based on these hours.

Key Achievements:

  • Programmed S7-1515 PLC and designed TIA v16 SCADA
  • Programmed scheduler for the shift controlling system and reporting system
